Live Budget Event Announced

KeithBryanThe Black Country Chamber of Commerce and Black Country Growth Hub at the Wolverhampton Businesses Solutions Centre are delighted to announce a live Budget Event on 16th March 2016. The event will be held at Wolverhampton Racecourse from 12pm to 2.30pm in the Horizons Restaurant.

A range of businesses are already registered to attend this free event to watch the Chancellor's Budget live. Delegates will be able to enjoy a working lunch in the glass-fronted panoramic restaurant with the added convenience of television monitors on every table of 8-10 delegates, bringing the excitement of the budget straight to your table, enabling you to catch all of the action up close and discuss in your smaller groups.

Following the budget, there will be a live panel discussion with industry experts, where you will also be given the opportunity to add your own views through an interactive voting system.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, Keith Bryan, said: "The budget occurs at a time when the impact of Brexit is high in business leaders' minds. An unstable pound is causing problems with our exporters and it will be interesting to see what the Chancellor will announce to ameliorate that negative effects of the reduced value of sterling during the EU referendum debate.

"The announcement of the proposed road and rail tunnel between Manchester and Sheffield shows how the new infrastructure commission can provide economic value to England's regions. We can hope that similar announcements will be made that will benefit the West Midlands."

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce aims to double the size of the local economy by end 2023. This requires £6 billion of productivity improvements generated by government investment in transport, education and access to finance for smaller businesses.
