IMG 5094The Black Country Chamber of Commerce are delighted with the success of their latest Your Future Careers Fairs at Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy. The Fair had a fantastic 40 stands on show to the young people. About 500 students from the age of 13 to 18 attended the Your Future Careers Fair which was held on 10th March. This event was free to attend and gave young people a chance to meet a variety of further education providers, training providers, apprenticeship supporters and local businesses offering advice and guidance.

Your Future Careers Fairs is a government funded national project to deliver 250 events through Chambers of Commerce, attracting over 70,000 young people across England.

The aim of Your Future Careers Fairs is to inspire, enthuse and motivate young people, encouraging them to actively think about their future career progression, the employment options available to them and to make the most of their remaining time in education.

Denise Myers, MD at Murray Myers Recruitment, commented: “I had an enjoyable afternoon spent with the pupils of Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy, as someone who recruits for local Engineering and Manufacturing businesses, it is a privilege to answer questions about the career opportunities within the sector and advise on what subjects etc. would be particularly useful.”

Black Country Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy for their continued support of the Black Country Chamber and their passion to help young people with their future ambitions.

Thank you also goes to all the stand holders for their time and energy at the Your Future Careers Fair:
