The latest from the Black Country

The Chamber Patron Group go “Behind the Scenes” at Wolverhampton Racecourse

IMG 0788Wolverhampton Racecourse, a long standing and valued Patron of Black Country Chamber of Commerce, kindly hosted the latest Patron “Behind the Scenes” meeting at their fantastic venue in Gorsebrook Road, Wolverhampton. Chamber Patrons enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch with an “Easter” theme in one of the private hospitality suites, located right by the finishing line, with exceptional views from the private balcony. After listening to an interesting overview of the Racecourse, from Jan Denning the Commercial Sales Director, Jan also tested the Patrons knowledge of the Racecourse with a light hearted quiz.

Patrons enjoyed a walking tour of the Racecourse, which included the Jockeys Weigh-In Room, followed by a chance to walk on the race track and also visit the various areas, such as the restaurants and conferencing facilities.

There was also an opportunity to visit the parade ring during the racing fixture, where owners, trainers and jockeys gathered prior to the races, as the horses paraded. Patrons were also offered the chance to present the winners with the race trophy.

Jan Denning the Commercial Sales Director said: “It was a pleasure to welcome our co-patrons of Black Country Chamber of Commerce to our racecourse again. Business is about relationships, trust and understanding the needs of customers.  Events such as this provide an ideal platform to learn more about the needs of our existing and potential customers in a relaxed environment.  Working with local businesses fits our sales strategy perfectly, we should aim to support each other, which then benefits us all and the Black Country generally.”

The Chamber Patron “Behind the Scenes” meetings enable The Patron Group to discover more regarding the business of their fellow Chamber Patron, which then gives them the opportunity to work with each other. Our Chamber Patrons play a key role in advancing the prosperity of the area and in helping us to strive towards doubling the size of the Black Country economy by 2023. The Black Country is the Industrial Heart of the UK and the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is helping local businesses gain the right support and connections to succeed.
