Ryanair Reveals New Birmingham Schedule

Budget airline Ryanair has launched its largest ever Birmingham summer schedule for 2017, which includes three new routes.

The 2017 summer schedule includes new routes to Chania, Girona and Reus, as well as new summer services to Sofia and Warsaw. Additional flights to Faro, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Palma and Tenerife will also be introduced.

Ryanair supports 1,700 jobs in Birmingham and the new schedule will increase traffic at the city's airport by 20 per cent.

The airline's chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs told Insider: "Birmingham is the UK's second city with a massive population and an airport with good connectivity. We also think it's quite underserved in terms of low fares.

"We're the second biggest airline in Birmingham so we want to build on that."

The schedule was released three months earlier than in 2015, which Jacobs said is down to customer demand. "People coming back from holidays want to book their next trip," he added.
