Paycare Share Best Practice on Employee Engagement and Stress Awareness with The Platinum Group

IMG 1045Directors from The Platinum Group manufacturing, automotive, logistics, freight & transport sector met together with directors from the newly formed Platinum Group Service Sector and Chamber Patrons to discuss employee engagement and how to spot signs of stress amongst their employees.

The Platinum Group hold quarterly best practice events for their senior leaders where they are able to work collaboratively to learn from each other and develop their leadership skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

This month Paycare, the Black Country Chamber Member of the Week, hosted the meeting to share their experience of raising employee engagement and the benefits it has brought to their business. They also invited Katie Woodland from Woodland Psychological Services Ltd to discuss how to identify stress in the workplace and to share 5 simple steps on how to reduce its effects without having to get all ‘touchy feely’ with employees.

Kevin Rogers, CEO of Paycare, proudly shared the effects that focusing on employee engagement has had on their business including an average length of service of 12 years, a dramatic increase in the productivity ratio of turnover per employee and importantly a 99.96% customer satisfaction score for 2015; proving that happy employees provide better customer service, resulting in happier customers.

“People are at the heart of everything we do”, emphasised Kevin. “As well as increasing productivity and customer satisfaction levels, we have also cut our recruitment costs significantly.  People want to work for Paycare, because they know there is a buzz about the place.”

Gail Arnold, Head of The Platinum Group said, “Who wouldn’t want to work at a company that offers monthly massages for all its employees! We have received very positive feedback on the session and I’m confident that members of the Group will be taking learnings back to support the growth and development of their own businesses and employees.”

The Platinum Group is designed for senior business leaders with the emphasis on developing leadership skills, sharing best practice and working with like-minded people.  Employee engagement is key to bridging the productivity gap and growing the local economy.  It is also important in ensuring the well-being and health of employees across the region.  Peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing play an important role in developing leadership skills and driving economic progress across the Black Country and beyond.
