Black Country Chamber of Commerce Member of the Week: Norman Bookkeeping & Payroll Ltd Double Staff Numbers

Norman Bookkeeping teamBlack Country Chamber of Commerce has nominated Norman Bookkeeping Ltd as the next Member of the Week, after recent substantial growth. Member of the Week is a Black Country Chamber initiative to celebrate the great work that our members are doing and to highlight the success stories in the local area.

Formed out of the recession in 2010, Norman Bookkeeping Ltd supports SME’s with their back office accountancy needs so they can spend more time running their business.

Norman Bookkeeping & Payroll Ltd is a growing company, in 2015 they had 3 staff but this will have over doubled by the end of the year to 7. Young people are key to the success of the company, with a focus being put on the younger generation to support the team and bring along new ideas.

Another main reason for the success of the business has been due to the implementation of a new cloud based software, Xero. This has opened the company up to a national and even international audience, leading to a need to grow as a business.

The team have also had a successful year of recognition, as they have recently been rewarded with the Bookkeeper of the Year – West Midlands 2016 at the Global Accountancy Awards.

Rob Burnell, Managing Director at Norman Bookkeeping Ltd, commented: “As a member of the Black Country Chamber for the last 5 years, each year the cost of membership has paid for itself in business we have received. I am delighted to have gained leads from the Chamber as well as sourcing local suppliers through the great links we have built with our Relationship Manager, Tina Johnstone.

“I also attended the Strategic Leadership Programme which was been key to the restructure of the organisation so our growth can continue. The course and additional coaching has made a massive difference; I am now able to delegate more work so we can develop further. I am also now looking to the future, our aim is to increase the number of customers and income whilst maintaining or exceeding our current customer service level.”

Black Country Chamber of Commerce wants to support businesses to grow and succeed. Our Member of the Week is an excellent example of how this is to be achieved. The Black Country is the Industrial Heart of the UK with many high quality and niche businesses working together to develop further to be market leaders.
