Beatties Reunion Planned for July 2017

A group of ex-Beatties employees are currently organising a major reunion event for all former members and retirees of James Beattie PLC.

The flagship department store was founded in 1877 by James Beattie and formed a massive part of Wolverhampton life and its heritage for 140 years. At its height in the 1980's and 1990's it employed over 800 people. Levels of service provided by these loyal members was unrivalled and nothing like it exists today.

The friends of Beatties event team are seeking to bring together many of those members who helped to shape Beatties and give it the fantastic reputation it held for many years. The event is being organised on a very grand scale which will befit the importance the team places on all the loyal service given by local people and the prominence to which Beatties featured in Wolverhampton life.

The event will take place on Saturday 15th July at Wombourne Civic Centre, all proceeds from the evening will be in aid of Compton Hospice which was Beatties chosen charity for many years.

The event has already caught the attention of several local businesses who have offered to help with sponsorship. The team are seeking further local companies to donate raffle prizes and items suitable for a charity auction on the night. This is an ideal opportunity for local businesses to recognise the unique position Beatties is held by local people together with helping a deserving charity, Compton Hospice.

Any companies wishing to help with the event will get prominent coverage in the local media and on the evening.
