Exciting Times in Birmingham Office with Promotions and Appointments for Senior Clarke Willmott Staff

L R Philip Edwards Jonathan Morton Andrew Beedham Rayner Grice 1MBSeveral promotions, appointments and new roles have been announced for senior staff at the Birmingham office of law firm Clarke Willmott LLP.

The national firm has seen considerable growth in Birmingham over the last few years, and that is now being reflected as Midlands based Partners have been appointed to leading roles in the national management of the firm.

Jonathan Morton, Partner in the commercial property team at the firm has been announced as the new Chairman of the business after being elected by his fellow Partners. Jonathan takes over the role from outgoing Chairman Tim Walker, and will oversee the development of the seven regional offices in his three-year term, and will be a key member of the Management Board as the firm implements its strategic growth plans..

The appointment left Jonathan’s role as Head of the Birmingham office open and Rayner Grice, Partner in the family team, was appointed by the firm’s Chief Executive officer Stephen Rosser. Rayner has more than 20 years’ experience in family law and is an independently recognised specialist in high value and complex divorce and separation cases.

Elsewhere in the office, Andrew Beedham, a consultant in the corporate and commercial team, has been announced as the new President of the Birmingham Law Society. With more than 35 years of legal expertise under his belt, Andrew takes the helm at the BLS as the organisation approaches its 200th anniversary. Andrew is a Corporate Law Consultant with Clarke Willmott in Birmingham and now specialises in complex £100m+ mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. Andrew will now bring his considerable experience to bear in leading BLS, the largest local Law Society in the country. Finally Philip Edwards has been named Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Partner for the firm nationally. A partner in the serious injury team, Philip’s expertise includes working with a wide range of charities and organisations. He will now lead the firm’s policy on working with charities and other organisations in the local communities around the offices, and championing the firm’s diversity and sustainability initiatives.
