Employment Issues on the Menu at Free Wolverhampton Lunch Club

Tracy Worthington Head 1Legal experts will share advice on the latest developments in employment law at a free lunch club this month.

Solicitors FBC Manby Bowdler will hold the event at its office in George Street, Snow Hill, on June 14. It will tackle topics including difficult issues around retirement of older workers, what political parties have in store for the world of work in their General Election manifestos, and what lessons Donald Trump’s public sacking of the FBI chief James Comey raises.

The quarterly HR Lunch Club is open to anyone who has to deal with employees at any level, from experienced in-house human resources managers to those with no HR experience.

The meetings offer practical advice and the chance to share real life experiences. The firm’s Employment Team will be on hand to answer any questions.

Partner Tracy Worthington said: “Prince Philip’s retirement at 96 has thrown the issues around the retirement of older workers into the spotlight and we will look at how to approach discussions around retirement and capability without breaching discrimination legislation.

“That will be just one of the items on the table for discussion but there will be also the chance to share real HR experiences or raise issues, problems or good practice in the workplace.”
