J C Paynes new management board celebrate their successJ C Payne, commercial vehicle body builder, and member of The Platinum Group at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, have announced their new 3-year strategy on the back of significant investment and growth since the current owners stepped in, back in 2009.

To illustrate the recent growth of the company, in 2012 JC Payne were turning over just under £5m, whilst last year saw this increased to £12.5m, equating to a 155% growth in turnover within just 4 years.  They have also seen a substantial increase in their workforce from 15 in 2009 to 140 employees today; whilst earning themselves a reputation as a great place to work.

Specialising in the manufacture of bodies for commercial vehicles from 3.5 tonnes and above, the business has been built around a strong vision of delivering exceptional customer service and high quality products on-time and to specification, which has set them apart from the rest of the market.

Commenting on their success Neil Brandrick, who runs the company with his brother, Garry, said: “Customer service and satisfaction is at the cornerstone of our business, delivering what we say we are going to, when we say we are going to.  This ethos is evident throughout the company where integrity, effort, commitment and experience are recognised and rewarded.  We are all proud of our products, proud of our people and proud of our customers – that is the JCP way.”

The company have now positioned themselves to build on this success and the reputation they have earned within the industry, with the launch of their 2020 Vision.  This sets out their plans for the next 3 years and has been communicated to their key stakeholders, including employees, suppliers and customers.

Garry Brandrick, said: “We have invested heavily in the business over the last 4 years with the introduction of a new fibre glass facility and spray booth, the acquisition of our aftersales business, and our 90,000sqft premises in Aldridge, which secures our base in the region to deliver our plans for future growth and workforce expansion.  To support us in making these plans a reality we have created a new, 5-strong management board, incorporating some of our loyal and committed leaders that have contributed to our current success.”

Neil continues: “The last 9 years have taken hard work and commitment from everyone in the business and we are, rightfully, proud of our achievements so far; but this is just the start of our journey and by announcing this restructure and sharing our 2020 vision, we are demonstrating our confidence and commitment to continue this growth and to contributing to the future success of manufacturing in this region.”

Corin Crane, CEO of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce commenting on J C Payne’s success, said: “We are extremely proud of the success that J C Payne are enjoying and know that it is a result of much hard work and commitment from not only the management team, but the entire workforce.  They are a fantastic example of what a clear vision, good leadership and strong customer service can achieve and at a time when growth in manufacturing is top of the Black Country’s agenda, we are very pleased to share their success to inspire other local companies to follow their lead. Peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing play an important role in driving economic progress across the region and are the cornerstones of the support, as a Chamber, that we can offer to local businesses to help them to scale-up their operations.”
