Physic Health Consulting Urge Employers to Consider Staff Wellbeing

Profile Autumn 16Black Country manufacturers are invited to try an innovative new approach to workplace wellbeing thanks to Physic Health Consulting. The company was launched by Medical Herbalist Hannah Charman in 2016 when she recognised the need for her approach within the corporate market. Hannah says "many employers don't realise the huge potential for transformation which comes from educating and motivating staff to take good care of themselves. Physic does just that, using traditional approaches backed by the most up-to-date research available".

Hannah decided to follow a career in Herbal Medicine after suffering a debilitating illness in her teens which wasn't treatable by mainstream Doctors. She has an Honours Degree in Western Herbal Medicine and worked full time for two multinational companies whilst setting up her herbal medicine practices. The companies she worked for had significant problems with sickness absence, and many of her colleagues were off with the same conditions she was successfully treating at her herbal clinic. As a result, Physic is now helping Black Country businesses to optimise their staff wellbeing at both strategic and grass-roots levels.

Physic's aim is to help each individual feel healthy and happy at home and work, so that Black Country companies across all sectors can thrive. Being trained to a similar level as a GP means that Hannah can offer both group training in wellbeing and private treatments to those with more complex health issues. Expert associates in areas such as Osteopathy, Meditation and Ergonomics ensure that a truly holistic approach is available to each client.

Currently Physic is advising an engineering company about healthy office design, and using Aromatherapy to improve the wellbeing of over 1000 call centre workers. Recent successes with private patients include a young man left unable to work due to severe anxiety. Sceptical at first, he underwent several weeks of intensive treatment including herbal medicine, nutrition and meditation training. Upon completion he commented  "Just the prospect of leaving the house would induce panic attacks and fear, but I noticed a difference almost immediately. Now I have more energy, motivation and things that I only dreamed of accomplishing don’t seem impossible anymore"
