Barclays Helping Black Country Business with GDPR

Barclays in the Black Country are helping local businesses prepare for GDPR. They will be running a series of free webinars to help businesses understand their responsibilities once GDPR comes into force in May.

Commenting on the webinars, Anthony McGhie, Digital Engagement Manager at Barclays said: “Although a lot of businesses will be already operating in a way that adheres to the GDPR, the important thing is they will need to be able to provide evidence of this. We will cover topics such as why GDPR is being implemented and what steps need to be taken to ensure compliance.

"Although we can’t give specific advice during the webinar, we want to help raise awareness on an important topic that could affect the day-to-day operations and actions of a business.

“The purpose of these webinars is basically to help businesses understand their responsibilities. We will look at the differences between the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 1998, possible fines and legislation and discuss tangible next steps to help businesses further.”
