Cuppa’s to Raise Cash for Hospital Charity

Today, to mark 70 days until the NHS turns 70, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity is asking people to raise a cuppa for the NHS Big 7Tea event on 5th July.

The NHS Big 7Tea is a chance for people to celebrate 70 years of the NHS, recognise the hard work and commitment of staff past and present and raise money for charity.

Individuals, community groups, businesses and schools can hold tea parties in order to raise vital funds to help enhance patient care and purchase life-saving equipment.

On and around 5th July, up and down the country, the NHS will be celebrating its 70th birthday and the local Trust charity is encouraging as many people as possible to take part.

Leanne Bood, Fundraising Coordinator for the Trust charity, said “The NHS reaches an important milestone in July and what better way to show your appreciation for the NHS but to raise a cuppa of the nation’s favourite brew?

“Funds raised will truly make a difference to the lives of our patients and their families.”

Professor Jane Cummings, Chief Nursing Officer for England, said: “NHS charities raise money and provide vital volunteers to support patient care.

“By hosting a tea party or volunteering for a local hospital, we can express support for the values and traditions of the NHS, which cares for over 1 million people every 24 hours.”
