Easy Like Sunday at Light House

Lighthouse CinemaWolverhampton’s City Centre Cinema, Light House, is having a special event to show customers how to enjoy a truly ‘easy’ day out.

'Easy Like Sunday' will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 22 July from 1pm at The Chubb Buildings’ Cinema, which is a registered charity.

“Once people have grabbed a drink from Lock Works Cafe Bar, we’ll start our community singing in the cobbled courtyard” explains Marketing manager Julie Rennison. “We do this at our annual Mistletoe and Mulled Wine event and wanted to start a summer singalong too”.

Customers will singalong to Easy classics numbers by artists such as The Carpenters and Neil Diamond. Through the afternoon, customers can choose to watch a film - Peter Rabbit, Mamma Mia,: Here we go again! (both subtitled) or Zoo at 5pm, starting Toby Jones and Penelope Wilton.

In the evening, the second night of sold out comedy show “Gary Powndland and Friends” will take place, plus more screenings of the Mamma Mia sequel.

“This is a diverse, historic, beautiful and creative space” says Julie. “On a Sunday we have special film prices, customer parking and a lovely relaxed atmosphere with which to end the weekend. Without the support of customers, arts venues like Light House cannot survive, so we’re keen to show even more of Wolverhampton what we have to offer, so we can continue to provide this unique experience."

Although the singing event is free, customers are urged to buy Sunday Cinema tickets in advance, which range from £4.50 to £7.20. For tickets call 01902 716055 or visit
