Cricket a big hit for anniversary celebrations

More than 120 guests joined award-winning regional law firm FBC Manby Bowdler for a night of top-class cricket, networking and hospitality at Edgbaston cricket ground.

The event was part of celebrations marking a decade since the merger of established law firms, Foster Baxter Cooksey and Manby Steward Bowdler, bringing together hundreds of years of combined expertise.

The firm, which is Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s legal partner, invited clients and professional contacts to watch the Birmingham Bears take on local rivals Worcestershire Rapids in a Vitality Blast T20 fixture at the Birmingham venue.

England star Moeen Ali hit a 65-ball century to lead the Rapids to victory in a high-scoring clash which took the visitors to the top of the league table.

FBC Manby Bowdler LLP is a 30-partner award winning regional law firm with offices in Wolverhampton, Willenhall, Birmingham, Shrewsbury and Telford, focused on, and committed to, intelligently delivering stellar service to its customers.

Guests were celebrating the progress the firm has made in the last decade, which includes multiple regional, national and sectoral awards, including being recognised officially as one of the Best Companies to Work for in the UK.

In 2017, it secured its first 2* accreditation from in the ‘Best Companies to work for’ scheme – the creators of the Sunday Times Best Place to Work list – joining the lists of other 2* organisations including McDonalds and Kuoni Travel.

Managing Partner Kim Carr said: "FBC Manby Bowdler has come an extremely long way, having put in a lot of work on a lot of fronts. The great news is that, having done so, we are now in the position of knowing that over 95 per cent of our clients are satisfied or very satisfied with what we do for them.

"When we set out on the road to achieve this we knew that the process couldn’t just be about meeting the demands of industry quality standards, though they certainly had a role, it had to be about standing out from everyone else by exceeding those standards at every turn.

"It was fantastic to see so many of our friends, colleagues and clients to celebrate our journey so far, and we're looking forward to the next ten years!"
