About this event
The Black Country Chamber Technology Special Interest Group, which has been created to support Chamber members better understand and use technology, are hosting a series of Cyber related workshops that are designed to help all members better understand Cyber risks and protect themselves.Cyber crime has been chosen as it is the area members said was most important to them. The series has been designed to cover key cyber issues and give members information about the practical steps that can take to reduce their risks.
The sessions will follow the key principles of Cyber Essentials, which is a UK government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations protect themselves against a range of the most common cyber-attacks. It was developed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and is aimed at improving the overall cybersecurity posture of businesses and organisations.
By the end of the series members will be able to better understand their cyber risks, and make informed decisions on what they need to do to reduce their risks.
Secure Configuration & Firewall
In this fourth webinar, we explore the importance of Secure Configuration and Firewalls in achieving Cyber Essentials certification. Secure Configuration involves setting up systems and devices in a way that minimises vulnerabilities and enhances security.
Firewalls act as a barrier between your internal network and external threats, controlling the flow of traffic and preventing unauthorised access. By implementing these measures, organisations can protect their digital assets from cyber-attacks and ensure compliance with Cyber Essentials requirements. The webinar provides practical guidance and strategies to help you configure your systems securely and effectively manage firewall settings.
