Are you looking to become a Mental Health First Aider in 2024?

Do you want to confidently spot the signs, approach conversations, and provide support in mental health in the workplace?
This course is ideal for staff at every level who would like to become MHFAiders® to gain the knowledge and skills to spot signs of people experiencing poor mental health, be confident to start a conversation and signpost a person to appropriate support.
MHFA England training is a key component for creating a healthy workplace where the mental health and physical health of employees are valued equally. It gives people the tools to support their own mental health and that of their colleagues and encourages them to access timely support when needed. Structure 4 live sessions with your dedicated instructor.
Learning takes place through a mix of instructor led training, group discussions, individual and group activities Each session builds on the previous, enabling the learner to gain confidence in supporting others with a Mental Health First Aid action plan.

All of the learning content is as accessible online on the MHFA Portal once you register for the training and inclusive, please advise our instructors of any requirements you need.
Live sessions are conducted over a password-protected meeting on the learning platform Enabley.

Course delegate numbers Due to the virtual learning environment we are limiting course numbers to 12 people.
As a MHFAider®, you will be able to:
  • Recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention.
  • Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports Practise active listening and empathy
  • Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma
  • Discuss the MHFAider® role in depth, including boundaries and confidentiality
  • Practise self-care and understand how to use the MHFAider Support App®.
You will also know how to access a dedicated text service provided by Shout and ongoing learning opportunities with MHFA England By the end of the course, you’ll have… A hard copy workbook to support your learning throughout the course A digital manual to refer to whenever you need if after completing the course A wallet-sized reference card with the Mental Health First Aid action plan A digital MHFAider® certificate Access to the MHFAider Support App® for three years Access to ongoing learning opportunities, resources and exclusive event MHFAider Support Programme - additional option In addition to the training Simpila also provide delegates with the option to join our dedicated support programme.
This has been designed to provide you with support in your role as a mental health first aider. The programme includes: Monthly Mental Health and Wellbeing Briefing Quarterly MHFAiders® Community Webinar Email support through dedicated mental health team Continual MHFAiders® role development and refreshers using the original training models We provide a very safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the whole course. If you don't feel comfortable joining in, then you don't have to, we won't make you do something you aren't comfortable with. We would love to have you join a course with us.
