The next instalment of our Manufacturing Policy Group will see speakers from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Tony O’Callaghan is T Level Planning Manager at the WMCA. We know from conversations with our manufacturers that although industry has a huge role to play in the success of this new post-16 technical qualification, sufficient knowledge of the qualifications itself is poor. Tony will discuss the background of the T Level and what is needed from industry to ensure students can get the work placements they need. We also have a speaker from BEIS ‘EU Exit Business Intelligence’ team who wish to speak to Chamber manufacturers about support as the UK leaves the EU and how Chamber members can access that.
