Although the annual Black Country Chamber Awards only opened a few weeks ago already, submissions are flying in.

This year, the Awards are completely free to all businesses and individuals in the Black Country to get involved. There are 13 broad categories to enter, chosen because they reflect the strength and breadth of the Black Country’s business community and the outstanding individuals that live and work in the region. There is also an overall business of the year award (last year, won by Prima Makeup) which is decided upon by the judges and public and selected from the winners of the other categories:

1. Community Champion

2. Large Business of the Year

3. Small Business of the Year

4. Export Business of the Year

5. Education & Business Partnership

6. Customer Commitment Award

7. Black Country Business Person of the Year

8. Professional Services Award

9. Excellence in Manufacturing and Engineering

10. High-growth Business of the Year

11. Family Business of the Year

12. Start-Up Business of the Year Award

13. Young Person or Apprentice of the Year

There are many benefits to entering the awards, such as raising business and individual profiles which could also lead to new connections, business leads or supply chain contacts.

Emma Moss, CEO from last year’s winners, Prima Makeup (centre left next to comedian, Milton Jones) said, “We were absolutely delighted to have won the 2018 Overall Business of the Year - on top of the Tony Andrews Start-Up category. Since the awards in November, our business has gone from strength to strength. We have secured a large contract with a large high street retailer and things are looking really exciting for the future.”

There is no limit to the number of categories that can be entered. All submissions must be received by 5pm on 28 June and more information about what the judges will be looking for in each category is on the website www.bcccawards.co.uk.

Corin Crane, chief executive of the Black Country Chamber (left) said, “The Chamber awards are amongst the most prestigious in the region. As a forward-thinking organisation, we are keen to make sure we are representative and supportive of all businesses in the Black Country which is why we have opened the Awards up so they are free to everyone to enter.”

Another way to gain great business exposure from the awards is through sponsorship. There are a range of sponsorship packages to suit every budget that include individual category and affiliate options.

There are many benefits to becoming a sponsor including unsurpassed brand placement reaching a total estimated marketing circulation of over 19 million; countless networking opportunities with like-minded business individuals; all coupled with a highly entertaining evening for business guests, colleagues and individuals – recognising and celebrating the best of Black Country businesses and individuals in extremely competitive markets.

Entries must be submitted by 5pm on 28 June. The finalists will be announced in September and the winners revealed at the gala celebration evening taking place on 15 November.
