ARB UK Truckman, a leading manufacturer and retailer of 4x4 vehicle accessories and upgrades, has opened a new base in Bristol, investing £250k to expand its reach across the South and South West of England.
The 1,300sq ft facility will serve customers of ARB UK – the British arm of the globally recognised Australian 4x4 brand – and Truckman, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and distributors of pickup accessories.
Together, the two brands offer upgrades for a wide range of vehicles including pickups, vans and 4x4s used in commercial, fleet, trade and leisure sectors. Products include hardtops, roof racks, suspension systems, storage solutions, lighting, and full vehicle conversions.
The two-floor site offers fitting, retail and trade services, and is designed to replicate the capabilities of the company’s Dudley headquarters, tailored to meet the needs of regional customers. It features three fitting bays, a large stock holding and despatch facility, and a dedicated sales and customer service team.
Five jobs have already been created, including three sales staff and two fitters, with plans to expand as demand grows. The site manages sales, marketing and customer service locally, with a focus on fleet, retail and van/pickup conversions.
Carwyn Davis, who leads the Bristol site, said the new operation is already generating interest from both trade and retail customers. He said:
“There’s a strong appetite for what we offer in this part of the country. We’ve built a capable team and the response so far has been really positive. Customers want access to quality products and expert advice without having to travel halfway across the country – and now they’ve got it on their doorstep.”
Richard Langman, Managing Director of ARB Truckman, said the Bristol launch was a strategic move to bring the business closer to a key part of its customer base. He said:
“We’ve seen consistent growth in demand from the South West, and this investment allows us to respond in a way that’s both practical and customer-focused. This site is about delivering the same level of service and expertise that customers expect from us, wherever they are.
“The South West is a key location for campers and adventure drivers, whereas Dudley is very much geared towards trade, fleet and commercial vehicles. Bristol will offer that too, but with a regional slant – we’re here to meet the expectations of customers who use their vehicles differently.”
