Hear more about what the Black Country Chamber of Commerce has been up to as we reveal big plans for 2025.
What have been your company’s key achievements in 2024
It’s the one-year anniversary of our first Quarterly Economic Data Reveal event. Having hosted our fourth successful event last week, we will continue to gather your latest views, challenges and successes relating to business confidence in the Black Country and lobby on behalf of our members.
Delivering the Start-Up Business Walsall and Start-Up Business Wolverhampton programmes last year was another major highlight in our bid to support local entrepreneurs. You can read about the inspiring journey of three entrepreneurs who featured in the Winter edition of PROSPER Magazine, speaking on how the Chamber has helped them scale up their business ventures in size and confidence.
After launching the Black Country Women in Leadership network in Spring 2024, we have appointed a steering committee, held three networking events and begun the Guiding Stars mentorship programme to inspire young women. Supported by the University of Wolverhampton, this initiative is an integral part of nurturing the next generation of female talent to succeed within the local community and beyond.
Of course, the annual Black Country Chamber Business Awards last November was a smash hit. We had some wonderful entries and amongst the winners were some new faces who have gained a new level of exposure within the region’s business community.
Have you made any significant investments in your business this year? How will you be looking to grow in 2025?
The Chamber has had some lovely new additions to the team, particularly across Sales & Marketing which has reached new heights in terms of engagement. As such, our Meet the Team event in October was an exciting chance for members old and new to get to know us and learn more about how we operate to achieve the work we do. Personality is what makes us stand out as a business and we want members to know the names and faces of the people behind the Chamber and the unique skillset we each bring to represent the region.
In 2025 we hope to grow with courage, integrity and collaboration. As always, our members are at the heart of everything we do, and we have developed our core values to reflect this. Your feedback is instrumental in helping us navigate the next 12 months.
How can members make the most of Chamber opportunities this year?
Keep an eye on the Chamber events calendar and give us a follow on social media to hear the latest updates. Log in to your Chamber dashboard and get involved with posting your news, press releases, blog articles, events, and offers. But remember, digital engagement only goes so far – attending our in-person events allows people to have those crucial conversations can that spark new opportunities for your business. It’s important that you are seen and heard by those with shared interests, so speak to your business manager if you need help to achieve this.
