Team members from Black Country Veterinary Group, Blacks Vets, are again being honoured for their skills by respected industry bodies.

Partner, Dr. Brian Hogan and Client & Pet Care Advisor, Kendall Clee, are both celebrating after receiving news of important accolades. Ms. Clee scooped the top prize to become the first ever Veterinary Receptionist of the Year at the British Veterinary Receptionist Congress held at the Belfry Hotel near Sutton Coldfield. Awarded by the British Veterinary Receptionist Association (BVRA), the prize recognizes the pivotal role receptionists play in enabling practices to run optimally, taking on board and managing the needs of clients and clinical staff alike.

Praised for her friendly and calm approach and her popularity with clients, Ms. Clee beat over 100 other applicants to win the title. Speaking of her win she said “I am absolutely over the moon to win this fabulous award which recognises the work of veterinary receptionists everywhere. I love my job and our lovely clients and the brilliant Blacks Vets team make every day interesting and varied. Thank you so much, this is truly special.”

Also enjoying amazing success is Clinical Director, Dr. Brian Hogan who has made it to the finals of the Pet Plan Vet of the Year award. Voted for by clients and colleagues, this is a national award scheme hosted by insurance company, Pet Plan, to recognise outstanding service to the veterinary industry. Dr Hogan is one of three finalists with the winner being announced at an awards ceremony in April.

Speaking of his nomination Dr Hogan said “I was delighted to be nominated for an award and to learn that I have made the final is such an honour. I am blessed with a great team and many wonderful clients. I consider it a great privilege to serve the Black Country in this way.”

Blacks Vets, which has five practices in Lye, Oldbury, Quinton, Sedgley and a flagship accredited veterinary hospital in Dudley, was awarded ‘Outstanding’ in the category of Client Service across all branches in 2018 and was also a regional winner in the Chamber Business Awards for Customer Commitment and locally for Workplace Wellbeing. Previously, the group has won Best UK Vet in the VetHelp Direct Awards and has also been Pet Plan’s Practice of the Year.
