Discover Dudley, which represents all the borough's attractions from the big venues like Dudley Zoo & Castle, the Black Country Living Museum and intu Merry Hill, through to parks, canals and green spaces has launched a brand new film to encourage more people to discover everything the borough has to offer.

The film gives a whistle stop tour of the attractions as seen through the eyes of a young girl and her family, calling in at the Black Country Living Museum, dropping in on lemurs at Dudley Zoo, spying dinosaurs at Dudley Museum, watching glassblowing at the Red House Glass Cone, taking in a show at Dudley Town Hall, gliding through the underground tunnels at Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust, stopping off at intu Merry Hill, hunting for fossils at Wren's Nest National Nature reserve, before finishing with her running across the expanse of Himley Park to the picturesque view over the boating lake.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for tourism, said: "I am immensely proud of the film which has been produced for Discover Dudley. When you see everything the borough has to offer wrapped up in this short film, it's quite remarkable. We have national nature reserves, internationally important geological sites, award winning attractions, historic locations and many protected green spaces – all within easy reach.

"Dudley borough has so much going for it. Yes, we were a key part of the past, playing an important role in the industrial revolution and the glass industry, but we continue to look forward, teaching new skills, bringing on the next generation of geologists, protecting endangered animals and running first class attractions. The borough is a great place to visit, and I hope this film also serves as a reminder to local people to make the most of what's on their doorstep."

Spark Media, based in the Custard Factory in Birmingham, were commissioned by Discover Dudley to make the film. Danny Gwynne, Co-Director of Spark Media, commented: "We were honoured to be given the chance and thrilled how its come out. While we were blessed with the weather, I think it also goes to show how much depth there is to the borough. We're just pleased to be able give something to Dudley that they can be proud of."

Discover Dudley brings together all of the attractions across the Dudley borough to promote all that the borough has to offer.
