We spoke to Alex Lawrence, Managing Director of Lawrence Cleaning Solutions on their vision for 2026.

For over 40 years, Lawrence Cleaning has provided dependable cleaning services to businesses across the West Midlands. As a family-owned company based in Dudley at the heart of the Bostin Black Country, they value lasting relationships built on care, trust, and integrity.

Their team supports a wide range of workplaces — from offices and schools to factories and healthcare sites — delivering cleaning solutions that keep environments clean, safe, and welcoming. By working with local people and using eco-friendly practices, the company takes a hands-on approach to ensure a personal service and consistent quality for every client.

How will you be looking to grow in 2026?

What we have done for over 40 years is growth through relationships, and we have no plan to change this. With the current economic climate it seems more important now than ever before that you work with companies and more importantly people you can trust. This is why we try to become trusted advisors to those who require it, and allows us to grow each year sustainably, making sure we keep our clients and continue to work with them instead of just chasing sales.

How will you be investing in your team?

We have a small management team that looks after a very large team cleaning on site, so it can be difficult to offer benefits company wide. But in the last 12 months we did introduce an EAP system for all 325 staff. In the coming year we are looking to review and increase the current benefits the team receive were possible, working with them to find a package that will see them receive the best value for them. We also hope to do this with the help of some chamber member partnerships. A win all round. We will also be looking to develop our management team with training in new technologies and any opportunities they would like to pursue. In this climate you need to hold of to good people.

What do you think the top trends in your sector will be next year?

Technology and AI, I think will be the trend in most sectors and even though cleaning can lag in this area you can't be left behind. Using AI to be more efficient in processes, scheduling and administration be what we are looking at, but also keeping an eye on what new technologies are coming through to help our team on the ground keeping people premises clean and safe.

How are you hoping to collaborate with other Black Country Chamber members and make the most of Chamber opportunities next year?

We already work with a number of Chamber members, both as a client and as a supplier, it’s a great network to be part of. Finding people you can trust to help you in areas you aren’t experts in is so important, so we will be looking to continue this next year by working with Chamber members in areas such as AI, and technology as well as business services to support our growth. As well as this we are always looking to create partnerships with Chamber businesses to create business opportunities for all involved.
