Fitness fanatics are being encouraged to sign up for a virtual challenge in support of a local charity.

Compton Care has launched Fit4Compton, which runs throughout September, for people looking for a new challenge and ways to keep fit whilst raising money for charity. Those taking part are asked to come up with a fitness-based activity around the number four. Dawn Smith, events fundraiser said: “We are so excited to announce the launch our brand-new virtual challenge Fit4Compton which runs throughout September. “We decided to launch this fundraiser to reach out to people within our local community who have found their fitness mojo during lockdown. We hope it will also give people the motivation to get out now that restrictions are lifting, whilst continuing to observe the new social distancing guidelines, to reach a clear goal in an achievable time. “Maybe you could run four miles per week? Or play four hours of football non-stop? What about organising a tennis doubles match and ask for £4 donations from friends and family? The possibilities really are endless, and all money raised will go towards ensuring we can continue to provide extraordinary care for our patients and their families both now and in the future “While 2020 has seen the cancellation of all our events, we are really hoping the community will virtually come together to get behind us and take part in #Fit4Compton this September.” The Wolverhampton-based charity has offered suggestions of the types of challenges people can do, including practicing yoga for 40 minutes each week, swimming for 14 hours throughout the month of September or walking 10,000 steps four times a week for four weeks.
