There is so more to a charity ball than having a fabulous time and supporting a great cause

Everyone knows that attending a charity event will help provide funds to help the charity in their efforts to make a difference. Often a decision to support a particular charity event, and let’s face it there is a lot of choice out there, will be because its cause resonates with personal experiences.

A gala dinner can be a great night out; a chance to get dressed up and enjoy a wonderful evening of food, company and entertainment. But it is useful to remember the business benefits of supporting charity events:

  1. NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. Cause-related balls are relaxed and conducive to meeting and chatting with new people. Unlike a business event where you may run into the same crowd, a charitable event will likely draw interest from a vast array of attendees, allowing you to rub shoulders with individuals you may not always have the opportunity to spend time in a relaxed setting.
  2. EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT. Employees look to their workplace to have a social conscience. Increasingly employees want to be part of a company that impacts the world around them. Since an engaged workforce is essential for retention, sending your employees to a charity ball will allow them to feel rewarded, and also be engaged with the cause.
  3. A POSITIVE BRAND IMAGE. Supporting worthy causes demonstrates to your key stakeholders that you want to make a difference. Publicising your support with a charity event reflects a positive impression of your company.
  4. TEAM BUILDING. Team bonding outside of the office environment allows colleagues to get to know each other and build new relationships, while strengthening existing ones. Better relationships increase collaboration, making day-to-day tasks much easier and smoother.
