My Journey to Becoming a Certified mBIT Coach
My Journey to Becoming a Certified mBIT Coach
Over the years, my work through Bright Path CIC has centred around one core belief: when relationships are strong, everything else becomes possible.
I’ve spent a lot of time supporting families, working alongside schools, and helping young people who are at risk of exclusion. And in so many of those situations, the challenges weren’t just about behaviour - they were about communication, pressure, decision-making, and people feeling misunderstood.
What I began to notice, time and time again, was this: even when people knew what to do… they often struggled to follow through. Leaders felt stuck between policies and people. Parents felt unheard. Young people felt disconnected. And underneath it all, there was often a lack of alignment. That’s what led me to mBIT.
What is mBIT - and why did it resonate so strongly?
mBIT (Multiple Brain Integration Techniques) is a coaching approach that works with three core intelligences we all have: The head (thinking, analysing, logic) The heart (values, relationships, connection) The gut (instinct, courage, action) Most of us rely heavily on just one of these - usually the head. We think things through. We analyse. We try to make the “right” decision. But when our head, heart, and gut aren’t aligned, things can feel off. Decisions feel heavy. Conversations feel difficult. Leadership can feel isolating. What mBIT offers is a way to bring those three intelligences into alignment - so decisions become clearer, communication becomes more effective, and actions feel more natural and confident.
The shift for me
When I first started the training, I thought I was gaining another tool. What I didn’t expect was how much it would change me. It challenged how I think. How I listen. How I respond under pressure.
There were moments of discomfort - realising that sometimes it’s not about not knowing what to do, but about not being aligned enough to act on it.
Since completing my certification, I’ve noticed a shift in how I show up - not just in my work, but in everyday conversations and decisions. And that’s when I knew this needed to be part of Bright Path.
Bringing mBIT into the Black Country
While Bright Path will always continue its work supporting families and schools, this next step allows me to also support the people leading within those systems, and beyond.
I’m now offering:
- Introductory workshops for organisations and leadership teams across the Black Country
- 1:1 coaching for leaders who want to explore this work more deeply
These sessions are designed to give a practical, accessible insight into how mBIT can support:
- Clearer decision-making
- Stronger communication
- Reduced conflict
- More aligned and emotionally intelligent leadership
This isn’t about theory - it’s about real, applicable change in how people lead and work together.
Why this matters
Whether in schools, businesses, or communities, leadership matters.
And leadership isn’t just about strategy, it’s about people. When leaders are aligned in how they think, feel, and act, it creates a ripple effect: stronger teams, better communication, and healthier environments for everyone involved.
For me, this work feels like a natural extension of everything Bright Path stands for - just at a different level of the system.
An invitation
If you’re a leader, organisation, or team based in the Black Country and you’re curious about how this approach could support you or your staff, I’d love to have a conversation. I’m currently offering a small number of pilot workshops and coaching sessions as I begin to roll this out more widely.
Sometimes the biggest shifts don’t come from doing more, but from becoming more aligned in how we already think, feel and lead.
