Robert Hopkins Environmental Accelerates Sustainable Growth by Investing in Leadership, People and Organisational Development with Clare MacColl at Revision Ltd

Over the past few years, Robert Hopkins Environmental (RHE) has experienced impressive and sustained growth. What began as a specialist environmental services provider has developed into a thriving, multi-disciplinary organisation with an expanding client base, a broader range of services, and a reputation for technical excellence. While market demand and investment in innovation have played their part, the company is clear that its greatest asset is its people.

As the business has grown, so too has the need for strong leadership, effective teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose across all levels of the organisation. Recognising this, RHE made a strategic decision to invest not only in systems and equipment, but in the development of its managers and colleagues. A key partner in that journey has been Clare MacColl of Revision Organisational Development.

Over recent years, Clare has worked closely with the senior team at RHE to design and deliver tailored leadership and team development programmes. Her support has focused on helping managers understand their own strengths, communicate more effectively, and build high-performing teams capable of adapting to rapid change. Through structured workshops, coaching and employee engagement initiatives, leaders across the company have gained practical tools to manage growth confidently and collaboratively.

Using a variety of development tools, Clare has helped individuals better understand different working styles, improve relationships, and create a more open and supportive workplace culture. The results have been tangible. Employee engagement has increased, internal communication has improved, and teams are better equipped to meet the challenges that come with expansion.

Managers demonstrate greater confidence in leading their people, while staff benefit from clearer direction and stronger connections across departments. This people-centred approach has enabled RHE to scale successfully without losing the values and team spirit that define the business.

As Managing Director Gavin Hopkins, “Growth brings opportunity, but it also brings complexity. People are not machines, nor would we wish them to behave that way. We truly value our team’s individualism, what we needed to do was help people use that to reach their potential. Working with Clare has helped us build the leadership capability we need for the next stage of our journey. Investing in our people has been one of the most important decisions we’ve made, because when our people grow, our company grows".

The accompanying photograph, taken at a management workshop on 12 February, captures RHE managers gathered around an Insights Discovery mat – a visual symbol of the company’s commitment to understanding, collaboration and continuous improvement.

With ambitious plans for the future, Robert Hopkins Environmental is proving that sustainable business growth is about more than new contracts and technologies. It is built on engaged colleagues, confident leaders and a shared commitment to developing people – supported every step of the way by trusted partners such as Revision Organisational Development.
