Over 100 delegates attend Higher Education (HE) and Careers Fair Event

On Wednesday 2 October, King Edward VI College Stourbridge welcomed over 100 delegates to campus for a day of engaging and informative Higher Education (HE) and Careers Fair events. The day was designed to offer students a comprehensive look at their future education and career pathways, with opportunities to explore university options, apprenticeships, and various professional industries.

The HE Fair, held during the day, featured a wide range of universities from across the UK, giving students the perfect opportunity to gather essential information on courses and admissions. Exhibitors were stationed in both the Main Hall and Chambers, offering one-on-one interactions with university representatives. In addition, a series of focused talks were held in the Lecture Theatre to provide students with valuable insights into preparing for higher education and apprenticeships. These included sessions on writing personal statements, understanding student finance, and an introduction to apprenticeships, all aimed at helping students make informed decisions about their futures.

In the evening, the Careers Fair saw students and their families connect with over 50 employers, including successful alumni, representing a wide variety of professional industries. This provided students with the unique chance to speak directly with professionals and gain insights into different career paths, apprenticeship opportunities, and progression routes. The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to hear real-world experiences and advice from those who have succeeded in their chosen fields.

The overwhelming turnout and positive feedback from both students and exhibitors highlighted the success of the event. King Edward VI College continues to focus on providing students with the tools and guidance needed to achieve their goals, and the HE and Careers Fair is a key part of that mission.

David Handy, Director of Admissions, Marketing and Progression said, "It was fantastic to see so many students engaging with universities, employers, and former students. These events provide invaluable opportunities for our students to explore their options and make informed decisions about their future."

As King Edward VI College continues to build strong connections with both educational institutions and industries, we look forward to hosting more events that inspire and guide our students on their journey toward success. We are always looking to strengthen our relationship with the local business community.

If you or your organisation would like to work with the college to support our learners through future events or opportunities, please get in touch by emailing careers@kedst.ac.uk.
