Commercial heating and ventilation specialist Lord Combustion Services has been named as a finalist for a prestigious business award in recognition of its commitment to sustainability.
The company is up for the Sustainability Award at the Express & Star Business Awards 2025, organised by the leading news brand to honour the business success stories of the Black Country and Staffordshire. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Halls Wolverhampton on Thursday June 5.
The finalist placing recognises the leading role that Lord has played in helping clients across the West Midlands introduce energy-efficient heating and hot water solutions and reduce their environmental impact.
Lord made the West Midlands Net Zero Business Pledge in 2022 to highlight its commitment to reducing its environmental impact and has been actively working to make a difference through initiatives such as converting fossil fuel systems to renewable and hybrid systems, refurbishing and recycling equipment and transitioning its fleet to hybrid vehicles.
Lord Managing Director Stuart Smith said: “As a proud West Midlands business, we are very pleased to have been named as a finalist for the Express & Star Business Awards.
“Everyone in the team has worked hard to help our clients find the most energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions, and we are committed to keeping up the good work.
“We recognise the positive impact we can make in educating clients about the environmentally friendly options available and encouraging the use of equipment that reduces energy consumption and the impact on the planet.”
As part of its award entry, Lord also had to demonstrate its growth, financial success and social impact. The company supports multiple local good causes, including the Midlands Air Ambulance, mental health charity Kaleidoscope Plus Group, Wolverhampton City Football Club and the Black Country Living Museum.
Launched in 1982, Lord Combustion Services has a team of nearly 50 staff serving customers across the West Midlands from its headquarters in Dudley Road East, Oldbury.
Lord previously received a sustainability award at the West Midlands Business Masters Awards in 2021 for its work supporting clients to reduce their environmental impact.
