A new Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry Diploma for Teaching Assistants focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (Diploma), launching in September, is aimed at equipping adults with the specialised skills needed to support children with SEND
As an awarding organisation, AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group is all about helping people take real steps forward – whether that’s into new careers, new confidence, or just the next stage of their learning journey.
Launching this September, our new qualification – The Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry for Teaching Assistants focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (Diploma) – is part of that mission.
This Diploma has been designed to open up more accessible routes into teaching assistant roles, especially for adults who want to make a real difference in the world of SEND.
Here’s the qualification in a nutshell:
- Designed for adults stepping into or moving up in TA roles.
- Goes deeper into SEND than the TA apprenticeship standard.
- Covers all the important stuff: child development, SEND theory, practical strategies, and much more.
- A great career-booster for professionals in schools, colleges and independent training providers.
It’s fully funded, packed with practical guidance, and gives adults a non-apprenticeship route into becoming a teaching assistant. The best bit is it’s been built with real employers, so it’s got exactly what schools are looking for.
