One week left for businesses to enter 2024 Chamber of Commerce Awards

Businesses have just one week left to submit entries for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Awards.

Celebrating the best of the Black Country’s business scene, the region’s rising stars, high performers, innovators and community champions will be honoured on November 21 with a glittering black-tie dinner and awards ceremony at The Halls Wolverhampton, operated by AEG Presents.

Open to Chamber members and non-members, entries must be submitted by 5pm on Monday September 16 via the Chamber website: www.blackcountrychamber.co.uk/awards

Categories up for grabs include business in the community, employer of the year, international trade, manufacturing and engineering, consultancy and professional services, science, technology and innovation and family business of the year.

Also on the list for 2024 are two business of the year prizes, one for businesses with up to nine employees and the other for firms with 10 or more, plus awards for small business of the year, start-up of the year, young employee or apprentice of the year, business in schools, not for profit organisation and apprentice employer of the year.

This year’s award category partners include Halesowen College, Wolves Foundation, KMB Shipping, CKCA Limited, Lloyds Bank, GTG Training Academy & Conference Centre (West Midlands), Forresters, Azets, Six Wands Accountants & Book Keepers, Daniel-Scott Recruitment, Sandwell College and University of Wolverhampton. Sandwell Council and Walsall Council have secured overall partnerships for the awards, with more still available.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce CEO Sarah Moorhouse said: “With just one week to go before the deadline, I’d encourage businesses to submit their award entries as soon as possible. With so many categories to choose from, there is an award for everyone to aim for.

“We have already received lots of inspiring submissions and can’t wait to celebrate our region’s successes at what promises to be an incredible night.”

The finalists will be announced in late September, before in-person judging takes place the following month. Last November’s awards saw more than 500 guests gather to celebrate a range of winners.

As the leading business support agency for firms in the region, the Chamber stages the awards as a platform for businesses looking to grow, connect and be part of a thriving network. Compere and host will be TV and radio sports broadcaster Amber Sandhu from Wolverhampton, who appears across BBC and Sky.
