Chamber Patron Paycare is pledging its support to a Wolverhampton resident who is set to take on one of the most gruelling challenges on the planet.

Health Cash Plan provider, Paycare, is championing 24-year-old James March who is embarking on the Jungle Ultra trek this June - a 230km, five day race through the Amazon's Manu National Park. One of only 50 participants globally selected to take part in the challenge, James is doing it all to raise money for charity, including the Wolverhampton MS Centre which has provided valuable support to his mother who has suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for many years.

Ant Burns, CEO at Paycare, said: "I had the pleasure of literally bumping into James a few months ago and was totally inspired by his story and by his courage and determination. For such a young man to commit himself to this immense challenge is testament to not only the love he has for his mother, but his desire to help all those across the UK suffering from life-impacting mobility issues.

"We invited James to come in and share his story with the Paycare team, and everyone was totally blown away by his passion and drive. Giving back to our communities is an integral part of our ethos, and every year we provide each member of the team with £250 through our MyGiving scheme which can either be directly donated to a charity of their choice, or used to kickstart a fundraiser. After hearing about James' inspirational mission, a number of the team have already pledged their support to him! We're very much looking forward to following his journey over the next few months and beyond."

James said: "I am so grateful to the Paycare team for supporting and championing me. Many people enter races such as this one to win. My motivation is wanting to do something outside of my comfort zone - to highlight the troubles those with mobility issues experience every day and to ultimately raise awareness of my cause. Support from organisations like Paycare is amazing - knowing that so many people believe in you gives you the extra nudge to go out there and succeed."

James is raising money for both WalkOnceMore, a charity that grants funds to scientists and researchers committed to finding a cure for SCIs, and Wolverhampton MS Centre, a charity that supports those across the region who are suffering from the physical and psychological effects of Multiple Sclerosis. James has already raised over £20,000 for his cause by taking part in a number of physically demanding challenges, including racing 257km across the Sahara Desert in the Marathon Des Sables - widely regarded as one of the toughest foot races in the world.
