Platinum Group Welcomes More Members as it Celebrates First Decade

As the Black Country Chamber’s Platinum Group, the exclusive platform for business leaders and senior-level representatives celebrates its first decade, the 38 strong group welcomes two new members to its fold.

Walsall based Steps To Work and The Wolverhampton Grand Theatre have joined the growing number of businesses to become part of the successful platform run by the region’s longest running support organisation, the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, testament to the group’s success and longevity of its work, and that of the Chamber’s, which demonstrates its continued support for leading Black Country businesses in a post Brexit and Covid world.

Andrew Shaw, Deputy CEO at Steps To Work, the Walsall based charity who support local unemployed residents to build their confidence, gain new skills, face their challenges, and ultimately obtain secure employment and financial stability, said, “We are delighted to be joining the Chamber’s Platinum Group. At Steps To Work, we are looking to strengthen our capability in key areas of our organisation and therefore very much look forward to sharing best practice with business leaders from across the region.

“As a charity with over 20 years’ experience, we are committed to delivering positive change within the communities we serve. By joining the group, we hope to build upon our heritage and utilise our expertise to partner with other organisations and ensure the Black Country is seen as a great place to do business.”

Meanwhile Karen Smallwood, Director of Finance & Commercial from the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre said, "After a difficult period of time for everybody, we are thrilled that audiences have returned to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre in their droves.

“It is now the right time to re-join the Platinum Group as the Corporate Services at the theatre have been relaunched and are already thriving.

“A membership with the Platinum Group, creates strong, meaningful and mutually beneficial contacts within the business community. The marketing, mentoring and sales forums provide the opportunity to share, learn and evaluate latest trends both regionally and nationally.

“We look forward to getting started.”

Gail Arnold the Head of Premium Membership said, “It is an absolute pleasure to welcome back the Grand Theatre to the group and have Steps To Work on board, and to continue our work with more fantastic businesses.

“As I see all our businesses work together; sharing best practice, challenging each other in their peer advisory group meetings, and ultimately forging strong and trusted business relationships, it is collaborative working at its best.”
