A Wolverhampton-founded IT company, started by two local school technicians, has won one of the most prestigious global awards in education technology.
Concero Education Technology, based in Wolverhampton, has been named winner of the BETT Award 2026 for IT Support Service, placing the Black Country business on the global stage for excellence in education-focused IT support. Founded in 2008 by James Morris and Bradley Clegg, Concero’s story began locally. The pair first met while working as technicians in schools, including Smestow School in Wolverhampton, supporting teachers and students with the growing demands of technology in education.
What started as two technicians fixing problems in classrooms has since grown into a trusted IT partner supporting hundreds of schools and multi-academy trusts across the UK.
The company’s name, Concero, comes from the Latin meaning “to connect, join, or twine” — reflecting the strong relationships and partnerships it builds with schools, something the founders say has remained central since day one.
The BETT Awards, produced in association with BESA, are recognised worldwide as the gold standard in education technology. BETT is the global leader in EdTech, and its annual awards celebrate innovation, creativity and impact across technology for education. Winning a BETT Award is widely seen as a mark of excellence and trust within the sector.
