Anniversary event for community cafe in Tipton.
One year ago, Groundwork West Midlands opened the doors to Unity Brew in Tipton, with a simple ambition: to create a welcoming community space where people could connect, learn and thrive together. Twelve months on, Unity Brew has become exactly that — a vibrant social hub at the heart of the community, bringing together people, purpose and sustainability every single day.
Over the past year, the café has supported local residents through affordable food, community activities, volunteering opportunities and a warm, inclusive environment where everyone is welcome. From hosting local groups and workshops to supporting mental wellbeing and reducing isolation, Unity Brew has demonstrated the power of community-led spaces to make a genuine difference.
The café has also championed sustainability through low-waste practices, recycling initiatives and creative environmental projects that connect local people to Groundwork’s wider mission of creating greener, healthier communities. Alongside this, Unity Brew has helped residents build confidence and skills through volunteering, hospitality experience and supported employment opportunities.
To celebrate this important milestone, Groundwork West Midlands is delighted to invite partners, residents, supporters and friends to join us for our 12 Month Anniversary Celebration Event on Thursday 23rd July.
The event will recognise the achievements of the past year, celebrate the people who have helped shape Unity Brew’s success, and look ahead to an exciting future for this growing community space.
Together, we’ve brewed far more than coffee — we’ve brewed community.
