Christmas Roller Disco - Friday 12th December at YMCA West Bromwich
YMCA Black Country Group is rolling into the festive season with a Christmas Roller Disco at YMCA West Bromwich on Friday 12 December, offering an affordable and nostalgic night out for families across the community.
Inspired by the vibrant roller disco scene that once lit up Carters Green in the 80s and 90s, this event promises to bring back the joy of skating with a seasonal twist. Tickets are just £5, with discounts available for families, making it a budget-friendly way to celebrate the festive season together.
Alongside the skating fun, guests can enjoy: Festive crafts for all ages, a delicious selection of Christmas treats from onsite café Coffee at the Clock, musical performances from talented students at George Salter Academy plus information about YMCA services available in West Bromwich and across the Black Country.
This event is hosted at YMCA West Bromwich on Carters Green, a vibrant community hub that has served local people since the 1960s. Over the decades, the site has evolved to offer a wide range of services including supported housing, gym & fitness facilities, skills development, community outreach, and most recently a youth café to provide a safe space for young people to be themselves. The roller disco is part of YMCA’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive, joyful spaces where families can connect, celebrate and thrive.
Louise Kumar, Head of Skills & Community at YMCA Black Country Group, said: “We’re thrilled to bring the roller disco back to Carters Green, where so many local memories were made. This event is about more than flashy lights and good times, it’s about reconnecting with our community, celebrating together and making sure everyone has access to festive fun, regardless of budget. YMCA West Bromwich has been supporting the area for generations and we’re proud to continue that legacy with events that bring people together.”
Whether you're reliving your roller disco days or introducing your children to the joy of skating, this event is set to be a highlight of the season.
