You didn’t need a makeover. You need a mindset shift!
Reinvention isn’t about what looks good on the outside - the hair, the clothes, the make up etc etc, but what is happening within you?
This can be about boundaries - have I just agreed to something that I really did not want to do, but just didn’t have the courage to say ‘NO’?
It’s about self- trust, believing and honouring yourself, above the noise of others wants and needs - in other words consciously and intentionally choosing Yourself.
It’s about standards - am I agreeing to something just to make others - like me?
I know I’ve always been a people pleaser because as an Asian person this was ingrained in us, and we had no other choice let alone awareness!
But all that has now changed, because with wisdom and age comes, intention and open, kinder and hopefully empowering choices, no matter where you are in life.
Don’t get me wrong it doesn’t have to be a ‘Gung Ho’ way of showing up, it can be a quiet respectful inner working of ‘No I’m not wanting or feeling this today- but you carry on, enjoy yourself’
With practice and through self accountability about how this is truly feeling - honouring yourself using your inner guide, which is never wrong.
These actions slowly become your new normal - and the peace and harmony you feel is like arriving Home with No pressure.
Isn’t this what we all want?
And more importantly what we have always deserved, before the cultural, community & religious conditioning?
