A young flooring fitter is building his own new business in Bilston, with the help of property experts from Bulleys.
Jake Doody, aged just 23, has set up Floors 4 Less at a unit on the Springvale Industrial Park after Bulleys helped him secure a five-year lease on Unit 26.
It gives his new business a 1,241 sq ft base for storage and to act as a sales counter as Floors 4 Less wins new customers across the Midlands.
The business handles every aspect of flooring for domestic homes, from measuring-up and ordering to fitting, from carpets to vinyl and laminate floor coverings.
Mr Doody has worked as a sub-contract flooring fitter for the last few years, building up his customer base, but has now decided to strike out on his own with his new business.
He said: “It’s been really hectic over the last few months, combining work with setting up the premises and getting everything right.
“We have just opened at Unit 26 and it’s been non-stop. It’s a big jump to running your own businesses, but I felt it was the right time.
“I aim to take the business across the Midlands as well as into Staffordshire, so getting the right premises was important.
“I’d spotted the unit was vacant and thought it was just right for what I needed. I contacted Bulleys and they have been excellent, really helpful.”
Bulleys acted for landlords Paloma in agreeing terms for the lease on rental of £7,450 per annum.
Angela Holland, the agency assistant at Bulleys, said:
“It is particularly satisfying when we can use our extensive commercial and industrial property expertise to help a new business as it is starting out.
“Finding the right premises is absolutely crucial, and we are delighted to have been able to help Mr Doody and Floors 4 Less get off to the best possible start.”
