ABOUT THE BLACK COUNTRY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Black Country Chamber of Commerce is part of a network of 53 independent organisations delivering hyper local business support solutions in the UK as part of the British Chambers of Commerce and its affiliated global network. Our range of services support members of different sectors and scale from start-ups to well established businesses, helping them to grow, connect and tackle issues impacting growth or productivity.

Chambers of Commerce began operating in the region in the 1860s and, in 2001, Black Country Chamber of Commerce was formally created as the successor organisation to this rich heritage. Since then, we have continued the legacy of supporting our members to become part of the DNA of the region’s economy and are held in high esteem as enablers of positive change, influencers, and champions of Black Country business.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce is a Company Limited by Guarantee and, importantly, a not-for-profit organisation working on behalf of its members.


IGNITE BUSINESS HUB OFFICERS x2

These two new roles will join us, on an initial one-year fixed term basis, to deliver an exciting new contract with the City of Wolverhampton Council at the new iGNITE business workspace and start-up centre in the centre of the City in the i10 building. Standing for Innovate, Growth, Navigate, Ideas, Technology, Entrepreneurship, iGNITE will be the go-to place for enterprising thinkers, start-up businesses, events, training and a place where business people can meet, share ideas and work from in an informal but professional environment. These roles will be based at the iGNITE business workspace and start up a centre in the center of the City in the i10 building and reporting to the Director of Business Services at the Chamber.

ARMED FORCES CO-ORDINATOR

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is proud to lead two major projects supporting the Armed Forces Community across the UK and beyond.

In 2020, we proudly received the Defence Employer Recognition GOLD Award as a testimony to our team’s endeavours over the years engaging with and ensuring the profile of our military community is raised at the highest levels.

This role is key to the success of these projects and is part of the Commercial Team at the Chamber, reporting into the Armed Forces Champion & Programme Manager. Initially a fixed-term contract for up to 8 months, the role will continue as long as there is funding, and our ambition is to make the projects self-sustaining and secure future funding as necessary.

We would, of course, welcome any applications from those in the Armed Forces Community or with a Military background.
