A Mock Employment Law Tribunal with a Manufacturing Twist

Mock TribunalBlack Country Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to take part in their next Mock Employment Law Tribunal on Wednesday 8th October. The return of this very popular event is an ideal opportunity to find out how an Employment Law Tribunal works, the questions that might be asked and the procedures involved. This is of particular interest to HR managers and anyone who deals with staffing issues during their working day.

The scenario is of Lesley Lacey V European Comprehensive Solutions Ltd (ECS). ECS is a specialist producer of red tape and the employee, Lesley Lacey, was summarily dismissed for gross misconduct after changing a tape reel on the high-speed platting machine without putting the machine into standby mode. Find out what happens when Lesley’s claim for unfair dismissal comes before the Black Country Chamber Employment Tribunal.

Barristers Shane Crawford and Jonathan Meichin from St Philips Chambers will be representing the two sides at the hearing before Employment Judge Lang of George Green LLP.

Last year nearly 70 delegates followed the case which was played out in a similar format with volunteers having great deliberations as they took part as witnesses in front of the lively audience.
