The Black Country is the Industrial Heartland of the UK with many high quality and niche businesses that are working together to develop further to be market leaders.

Business improvement is key for success because if businesses stand still, they will lose their competitive edge, therefore improvements must be made continuously to keep pace and strengthen the business. Robin Fry the Director of HR from Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd, a member of The Group, explained how the business improvement examples have inspired him:

“I was impressed with the way behaviours arising from Lean Principles have been married with the Moog Values. I was even more impressed with the extensive use of Visual displays to convey that operational performance is the responsibility of all, not just management. Clear successes, displayed to give recognition to participants, are set to encourage long term, discretionary effort by all employees, in solving business problems and achieving targets."

Black Country Chamber of Commerce is working with members of The Platinum Group to offer an extensive programme of best practice and business support activities. Designed for senior directors, managers and team leaders, the informative meetings are designed to help share best practice and develop valuable skills which will make a difference across a broad spectrum of business operations.
