Avanti Donates Kitchen to Church

Church 04Big hearted bosses at a Stourbridge Kitchen manufacturer have come to the aid of a local church by giving them a brand new designer kitchen.

Avanti Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms in Hayes Lane, Stourbridge, heard about the plight of the Asian Christian fellowship who worshiped at the Darlington Street Methodist church hall for more than 40 years, and were quick to donate one of their kitchens to the Wolverhampton based church.

The original church hall was badly damaged by fire back in March 2014 and now Pastor Hari Kaul is leading the challenge to rebuild the church at a former social club in Church Street, Bradmore, Wolverhampton with a huge effort to convert it for the congregation and local community needs.

Pastor Hari said "the kitchen is an essential part of the church, obviously we can preach and teach the bible, but then there comes the time of fellowship which is where we share food, an important part of any Christian community".

Avanti designers assessed the new building and produced a modern design worth over £4000 that exactly suited their catering needs before Avanti's local workforce manufactured the units at their Stourbridge base.

Avanti Managing Director Lee Capewell said "As soon as we heard about the Church project we were very keen to help, and visiting today to see the finished kitchen was very satisfying"

He added, "I think that kitchens are at the heart of a home, and I'm sure that this kitchen will be at the heart of a very strong community building".

The kitchen will be used by the congregation as well as many community groups.

Pastor Hari added "We'd like to say a big thank you to Avanti, their gesture has gone a long long way".
