Local business owner Gio Ranallo has teamed up with whg to offer the free four week course at his popular restaurant ‘Gio’s Italian’ in Goscote.

The Walsall man, who trained as a chef in Italy’s top restaurants, is delighted to bring his mouth-watering cuisine and passion for healthy food to local people.

Customers taking part have had the chance to discover more about healthy family favourites without breaking the bank.

“Good food is such an important part of life and I want to help people enjoy great meals with their family at home, as well as when they’re out at a restaurant,” said Gio.

“Everyone seems to really enjoy the classes and are going home with some great new recipe ideas to try out.”

More than 30 people signed up to the cookery course and plans are now in place for further classes.

whg’s Community Champion for Goscote Lisa Cushman said: “Being able to cook healthy meals on a budget for your family is an important life skill and this was a great initiative from whg and Gio.

“Everyone who took part had a fantastic time and learned a lot too,” she added.
