The Platinum Group Service Sector Discuss “Direction and Strategy”

IMG 1212Members of the newly formed Platinum Group Service Sector, recently held the first of their Peer Group meetings, to discuss the direction and strategy of The Group for the next 12 months. It was the first meeting with their facilitator and coach, Wendyanne Shapiro, who will be working with The Group throughout 2017.

Wendyanne Shapiro is an experienced performance coach, who has been working in partnership with organisations for over twenty years and brings a wealth of experience across a range of sectors and businesses including retail, finance, education, health and manufacturing.

An expert in customer experience and employee engagement, her key successes include working through major change programs to collaboratively, and sustainably, change culture and behaviour in order to foster an environment where people can thrive and grow.

Wendyanne will facilitate and deliver The Platinum Service Sector Peer Group meetings and observe, engage and provide feedback on behaviour and performance. Members of The Group will benefit from her individual and business coaching, where she will be sharing expertise and developing skills, so as to drive forward culture and performance change.

By facilitating members to demonstrate and role model theory, approaches and practice, she will be challenging individuals to understand what they do well and replicate it, or to identify and provide suggestions and solutions that will improve business outputs and performance.

As one of the aims of The Platinum Group is to build and strengthen relationships, the meeting began with members providing an honest and open overview of their organisation, themselves and their role; including the highs and lows of the last 3 months and an insight into what lies ahead for them.

This allowed them to highlight their key areas for development and set an agenda for 2017.

Commenting on the meeting, Chris Barlow, Partner at MHA McIntyre Hudson LLP, said: “I really enjoyed this first meeting and was encouraged by the levels of openness and collaboration within the Group. I am looking forward to working with Wendyanne, and the other members, to develop myself, my team and my business.”

Gail Arnold, Head of The Platinum Group, said: “Following the principles of developing leaderships skills, sharing best practice and working with like-minded people, I am pleased to be able to share the benefits and learnings from the original Platinum Group to enable companies within the service sector to learn from each other and develop their people and businesses in the same way. It was also the perfect opportunity for group member, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, to showcase their new corporate facilities: they were the perfect hosts.”

Leadership and development are cornerstones of the work that the Chamber is doing to grow the local economy. Peer-to-peer learning and best practice sharing play an important role in driving this economic progress across the region.
