College Makes the Grade as an Apprenticeship Provider

City of Wolverhampton College has been recognised for the quality of its apprenticeship programme after being approved on the new Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers.

The new register, which was released on March 14, is aimed at improving the quality of apprenticeship delivery. From May 1 2017 only those training providers that have made it on to the register will be able to offer apprenticeship training.

The college went through a rigorous assessment process to ensure it met the high quality training standards expected by the Department for Education and Skills Funding Agency. Inclusion on the register means that the college has been given the green light to continue to deliver apprenticeships to employers from May.

Principal Claire Boliver said: “Making it on to the register as a main provider is a great endorsement of the high quality, flexible and responsive service we offer employers.

“We look forward to building on our successful apprenticeship programme, in order to support employers to upskill their workforce.”

Apprenticeships and skills minister Robert Halfon said: “Our new register of apprenticeship providers will mean that only organisations that have passed our quality assurance can deliver apprenticeships.

“We are giving employers the confidence to do business with high quality training providers, and making sure that individuals can benefit from gold-standard routes as they climb the ladder of opportunity.”
