School Search Engine Just for Children

untitled 0734Computer-savvy Midlands school children are road testing a new search engine designed and pioneered by a specialist Wolverhampton IT company.

IT experts Concero Ltd have just launched the Square One resource for schools across Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and the Black Country.

It is a bespoke default landing pages for schools is packed with educational-specific tabs making it easy for pupils and teachers to search learning topics.

The free service was launched yesterday (Mar 20) at more than 40 schools which Concero, based in Newbridge, Tettenhall, provides IT support through its teams of engineers.

And students at St Nicholas First School, in Codsall, were among the first to road test Square One, along with their head teacher Miss Jodie Parker.

She said: “This is an excellent time-saving tool because it brings together all the resources we need in one place and on one page. Thanks to Square One we have a simple go-to place tofind online educational resources saving time for teachers and pupils.”

Bradley Clegg, Concero director, added; “We work with many schools across Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and the Black Country providing all kinds of IT support and Square One is aimed at helping both teachers and students. 

“We created this search engine landing page so when teachers and students log on they can, at a click of a button, go through to lots of useful and relevant sites – for pupils we have learning sites and for teachers lots of great resources and E-safety guidance.”
