Truckman Supplies Hardtops to Isuzu's Welsh Rugby Sponsorship Programme

Dudley-based Truckman is helping to convert the next generation into rugby fans after supplying the Welsh Rugby Union’s community programme with Truckman hardtops as part of Isuzu’s renewed sponsorship.

The company has supplied 31 highly-secure and robust Truckman RS hardtops to increase the load capabilities of the Isuzu D-Max pick-up trucks, which are being used as part of an outreach programme to encourage more youngsters to take up rugby.

The UK built hardtops will be packed full of training equipment as the Welsh Rugby Union’s outreach team tour the country’s schools, community venues and clubs to instil a love of the sport in young people.

Earlier this year, Isuzu announced an extended sponsorship agreement with the Welsh Rugby Union, which, in addition to securing a number of vehicles for the community programme, will see the senior men’s and women’s team kits emblazoned with the brand’s logo until 2021.

Mike Wheeler, Executive Chairman at Truckman, said: “We have a long-standing relationship with Isuzu and are delighted to support them and the Welsh Rugby Union.  I am pleased our hardtops will be used by the community programme as it tours Wales to encourage more young people to take up the sport.

Darren James, Group Resources Director from Isuzu, said: “Isuzu are extremely proud to sponsor the Welsh Rugby Union and the use of Truckman hardtops enable the team to transport kit and equipment safely and securely around the country as they look to inspire the next generation of Gareth Thomas’ and Sam Warburtons.”
