FREE - How to Get into Rail Workshop

01 Oct 2019 08:30 - 13:00

Birmingham University

The DIGI-RAIL project helps manufacturing, engineering and tech companies to get involved in the rail sector and benefit from record investment. It gives you an effective route to finding new customers, gaining a foothold ahead of your competitors and stabilising your sales.
By diversifying your customer base, you can bring more stability to your business. For example, manufacturers in the auto sector can easily diversify into rail. Engineering and techcompanies can just as easily design and build something for the rail sector as any other.
Here are several great reasons for entering the rail sector:
  1. There is a record investment of £47bn in the rail sector . This is not just HS2. Another big local project is the Midlands rail hub and there are many light rail projects going on around the region.
  2. Passenger numbers are predicted to increase by 40% by 2040 and this is a major challenge to rolling stock, physical infrastructure and existing technological solutions including apps, cyber security, internet of things etc.
  3. The major players in rail are asking for more suppliers as they need the new ideas and innovation which come from SMEs.

This half-day workshop has been specifically designed for companies who want to get into this growing and relatively untapped sector.
In this highly valuable workshop, you will:
  • Discover the opportunities, drivers and key players in the rail sector
  • Develop an understanding of what you need to do to get ready for rail
  • Understand the funded support mechanisms available
  • Develop an action plan to move your company forward
