The Black Country Chamber of Commerce has joined forces with Dudley Council to deliver a brand-new Business Start Up initiative available free of charge to residents and businesses in the area.

The business advice and support offering will be available to residents and businesses, currently paying their council tax or business rates in the borough, and is open to those already in business, as well as Dudley residents thinking of setting up on their own.

Stage one kicks off with an online business start-up seminar on the 2nd April which will cover everything from business planning and legalities to basic marketing and skills.

Places are limited so those in the Dudley area who are interested are advised to register.

or call Sarah Walker on 01902 912333 / 07896 592419 for further details.

Over the coming months stage two and three will include more intensive training and explore how you can fine tune your business. Sessions will be delivered quarterly and take a more detailed look into the key elements of running a business including start-up costs, cash flow forecasting, bookkeeping, pitching for business, understanding your brand and customer as well as cover the benefits and pitfalls of using social media for your business.

For those businesses who have completed every session, and produce a viable business plan, there will be the opportunity to apply for funding and go forward to receive one to one support.

Heading up the project for the Black Country Chamber is Sarah Walker she said, “I am thrilled to be involved in the project. Our first seminar will run online due to the current environment, stage one would normally be a 3-hour seminar, however due to the challenging times we are facing, we are running them online throughout April and May to ensure no one misses out.
